PixelJunk Monsters 2 is coming to the PlayStation 4, PC, and Switch this Spring, Q-Games has announced.
The sequel will be arriving digitally on May 25 for just $14.99, although at the time of writing there’s no word on whether the game will get a physical release. It’s been a long time coming though; the original PixelJunk Monsters was released over ten years ago on PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, and PC.
Much like its predecessor, PixelJunk Monsters 2 is a tower defence game, though it certainly stands out in the visual department thanks to some vibrant, pseudo-stop-motion effects that give the action a unique look and feel. Furthermore, Kotaku reports that the game will clock in at 60fps on the PS4 and 30fps on the Switch in both handheld and docked mode.
Finally, PixelJunk Monsters 2 will support local two-player cooperative play in addition to an online-only four-player mode. Check out a trailer below.
