It has emereged that id software’s much hyped Doom 3 has fallen victim to software pirates. Reports are indicating that upwards of 60,000 people are downloading rather than purchasing the game, however the exact source of this figure is unknown.
While PC game piracy is nothing new, should the reports be true, this would be a bitter blow for the games developers as well as Activision, the publishers of the game. Doom 3 is released today in the US and is set for an August 13th release in the UK.
