On the latest IGN Unlocked podcast (via GameSpot), Xbox head Phil Spencer has said those who see a Scorpio in action will see an improvement in visuals, over any console on the market.

‘I am very confident in the quality that I’ve seen from the games that we’re launching and how they look on Scorpio,” said Spencer. “When people see games on Scorpio, for those that are close to the detail, they’re going to see a demonstrable difference between that and the games that they’re playing now — on any console.’

Spencer stated that ‘It’s going to be an interesting year for us because we don’t have Gears, we don’t have a Halo first-person shooter game,’ before implying there are a few announcements planned in the future by saying ‘maybe there’s some things that we haven’t talked about yet.’

While we don’t know much about the Scorpio yet — price, being the elephant in the room that hasn’t been addressed — many think this may be quite pricey as Microsoft has referred to it as a premium console.

Project Scorpio is scheduled to launch towards the tail-end of 2017.
