The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of PES 2014 will receive World Challenge Mode DLC on March 26, Konami has revealed, offering a World Cup-style game mode for the price of £7.99.

World Challenge mode integrates a new International Cup competition into PES 2014, challenging players to guide their international team or player to glory. In Team mode the player must take control of all aspects of play, from team selection to choosing match tactics. Player mode tasks gamers with earning selection to the international team and retaining that place via strong performances in matches.

The DLC begins in the qualifying rounds all the way through to the main tournament, giving players the option to schedule friendly matches and recruit new talent. There are separate qualifying competitions for European, African, American and Asian teams.

All the action is presented with entirely new front-end elements, whilst the implementation of new AI elements will see players responding to a strong performance by raising their game or suffering a crisis of confidence which can affect playing levels.

World Challenge mode also includes the official Brazilian national team and player likeness.

In addition, further free DLC and a patch will roll out on March 26, promising to update a host of game features.

Nine International team kits such as Italy, Portugal and Greece will be updated, and there will be new boots from Nike, Adidas, Puma and Umbro. Also included are over 60 player face updates and additions, with lifelike representations of England's Jack Wilshere, Spain's David Silva and Gerard Pique, and Germany's Mario Götze and Marco Reus. The new adidas Brazuca ball will added.

Konami also says the patch will improve gameplay for a smoother experience while bringing in new cheating measures for online play.
