The planned sixth instalment in the Resident Evil movie series now has a director and star, with Paul W.S. Anderson helming the project and Milla Jovovich confirmed to be returning as Alice, reports FilmShowing.net.
Anderson is reportedly planning to begin shooting this autumn, with Mr X visual effects firm also on board to handle the project’s many visual effects.
Resident Evil Retribution managed to pull in a global box office of $221 million, more than enough to warrant green lighting a sequel. 2010’s Afterlife managed a worldwide boxoffice of $296 million, helped by higher 3D ticket prices.
