More seasonal events are planned for Overwatch in the future, Blizzard has teased, with this week’s Summer Games-themed content being just the start.
“This is our very first seasonal event in Overwatch, but there are more on the horizon,” Blizzard said in a press release sent out this morning. “We’re not quite ready to reveal our plans, but you can expect to see more festive Loot Box items, maps, and modes in the future.”
Overwatch’s new Summer Games event introduces Olympic-themed skins, sprays, emotes and other cosmetics for a limited time, which can be unlocked in new Loot Boxes.
It also features a brand new brawl: Lucioball – a new 3v3 game mode that has players trying to score as many goals as possible within 4 minutes. Here’s a screen to give you a taste of what it looks like:
The event comes to an end on August 22.
