Overwatch 2 players can’t wait for this hero to get nerfed

It’s no secret that Zenyatta has been a solid choice for Support players since Overwatch 2 released. However, for Tank players his Discord Orb ability has been a thorn in the side of balanced gameplay. However, Tank players are rejoicing as it was recently revealed that the Overwatch 2 team are looking into adjustments for the ability.

Speaking in an Overwatch 2 blog post, the Overwatch 2 team noted that there would be a number of hero balance changes coming with a mid-season patch. However, the one change players are most focused on is the “slight adjustments” coming to weaken Zenyatta’s Discord Orb. This garnered a lot of positive reactions among the Overwatch 2 community with a screen capture of the blog post being shared on Imgur with the caption, “Tank players rejoice, Zen orb nerf coming.”

While a lot of players were happy to see this, some were a little concerned that if Blizzard handles this balancing change wrong it could either make Zenyatta unplayable or take the fun out of using the Hero altogether. One player said, “I main tank and hate Discord, but am worried of an over-nerf. Blizzard loves to balance the fun out of their heroes.”

Many other commentators on Reddit shared this concern with some offering up solutions. User KingOfOddities suggested that maybe a good solution would be to have the “orb amplify less damage on the tank.” Others agreed with this suggestion with one player citing it as “the best way to balance it.”

What Blizzard aims to do with Zenyatta’s Discord Orb will likely be revealed closer to the mid-season patch but Overwatch 2 players seem happy with the news across the board, if not a little worried about how the nerf will be handled.
