Codemasters has today announced the 2009 release of Overlord: Dark Legend, a brand-new Wii adventure set in a time before the original game. Here players take on the role of a new young Overlord who takes out his frustrations on the local fairy tale inhabitants.
Designed exclusively for the Wii, Overlord: Dark Legend will feature motion controls that take advantage of the Wii Remote and Nunchuck. Minions can now be plucked from the horde, held by the neck and then, by shaking the Wii Remote, throttled to imbue him with some Overlordly power and turned into a manic minion missile. This new explosive Minion can then be guided into enemies.
The game also features a rich story from award-winning video game author Rhianna Pratchett, with plenty of Overlord favourites making an appearance. Expect to see Halflings, trolls, elves and dwarves plus newly introduced wicked witches, gingerbread men and Lil’ Red Riding Hood.
Overlord: Dark Legend is scheduled for release exclusively for Wii in 2009.
