The design document for Race’n’Chase has been posted on Flickr. At first glance that might not be all that interesting, but this went on to become the first Grand Theft Auto from DMA Design.
The 11 page document – dated March 22, 1995 – has been posted by Mike Daily, who worked as a graphics engine programmer on the game.
The title was described as a “fun, addicting and fast multi-player car racing and crashing game which uses a novel graphics method”.
For those interested in game development, or even if you’re a curious GTA fan, it’s well worth a read.
