Ubisoft has defended its decision to release two Assassin’s Creed games this year, claiming only a “vocal minority” are unhappy with the frequency of which new games are launched.
In an interview with Eurogamer, Assassin’s Creed: Rogue producer Karl von der Luhe spoke about the decision to offer two titles.
“There are the hardcore Assassin’s Creed fans that are happy to play two games and there are of course many fans who have not yet made that financial move to go to next-gen,” he said.
“And these are the guys that we’re really catering for – they’re thankful for the fact that they will have a compelling Assassin’s Creed game to play on either their Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3.”
Von der Luhe also claimed that the decision to offer a different game on new-gen and old-gen was made a “long time ago”, and also affirmed his belief that on a “vocal minority” are upset with the decision.
Assassin’s Creed: Rogue launches on PS3 and Xbox 360 on November 11 with Unity launching two weeks earlier on PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 28.
