The Steam page for Only Up!, the latest indie hit to take Twitch by storm, has now been reinstated following a temporary take-down amid recent copyright controversies. Although the exact reason for its previous removal remains unknown at the time of writing, some fans are speculating that its return is due to the fact that developer SCKR Games reportedly swapped out a stolen asset that wasn’t meant for commercial use.

According to a Reddit comment from a user named LuntiX, the game was apparently updated in order to alter a specific portion of the game. The section in question previously contained a depiction of a “giant girl,” which, as pointed out by Kotaku, original appeared on the Sketchfab website. Following the update, however, the alleged stolen asset has now been replaced by a statue of Atlas holding a spinning globe aloft, thereby allowing the developer to re-list Only Up! on Steam.

Now, even though the indie hit has returned to both Valve’s platform and Twitch, it seems that Only Up! has become notorious in some circles as fans are claiming that it continues to use assets from other popular franchises, which includes some of the music created by Nintendo and Final Fantasy. Additionally, the community’s mounting dislike for the game is further bolstered by the fact that it also heavily markets and sells NFT’s to those playing it.

Of course, since the premise of the game is relatively straightforward, a few players believe that its popularity on Twitch may only be short-lived as viewers and streamers alike continue to search for the next mainstream hit. For now, though, you’ll have to continue enduring the never-ending Only Up! content blast as streamers attempt to capitalize on the hype surrounding it.
