OnLive’s cloud gaming service will be integrated into new Android-powered models of Philips TVs launching across Europe in 2014, OnLive and TP Vision have announced.
Compatible TVs will feature the OnLive Game Service Android app out-of-the-box, with users simply required to connect a game controller or Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Once signed in to an OnLive account it will be possible to access hundreds of games directly from the TV.
“Integrating OnLive directly onto Philips TVs powered by Android is a perfect example of how even the most graphically demanding games can be delivered into the living room without the need for dedicated high-end gaming hardware,” said Rick Sanchez, VP for product and marketing at OnLive.
“OnLive delivers gaming with the same instant-on convenience and benefits that is driving consumers’ surging interest for on-demand video and music services.”
OnLive pricing ranges from £4.95 to £8.95 per month.
