Tekken – A Man Called X, a prequel to the 2009 Tekken film, is currently in production with Prachya Pinkaew attached to direct.

Martial Arts fans may recognise Pinkaew as the man behind 2003’s acclaimed Ong-Bak starring Tony Jaa.

Cinema Today also reports that Kane Kosugi (Ryu in the terrible DOA: Dead or Alive) is announced as the star.

The first Tekken movie was pants. Let’s hope the prequel is much better.
