Rocket League will finally be updated to run at 4K on PS4 Pro when a patch releases on February 21, Sony and Psyonix have announced.
Psyonix has brought in development buddy Panic Button to work on the game update, with 4K 60fps visuals promised in all arenas for single and two-player split-screen modes. The game won’t run at native 4K, but should look pretty close to the real thing thanks to checkerboard rendering.
In addition, Psyonix says the update further improves performance on the base model PS4, enabling the game to almost always hit the 1080p 60fps target for solo and two-player split-screen.
All model PS4s will aim for 60fps in three and four-player split-screen play, but may fail to hit this target in some arenas.
The February 21 update also introduces the new Hot Wheels content.
