Acclaimed PS4 and PC puzzle adventure The Witness from Braid creator Jonathan Blow will launch for Xbox One on September 13.

“We’ve gotten lots of requests to bring The Witness to Xbox One,” wrote Blow in a message on Xbox Wire. “People tweet at me about this all the time! So we are happy to say that this is happening soon.”

Blow also has some advice for Xbox One gamers looking forward to The Witness.

“This is a game containing a lot of surprises. I recommend going into it without spoilers. If you get stuck, or something seems difficult, you can turn around and go somewhere else, and come back to the hard problem later. Elsewhere on the island you might find clues to the thing you’re stuck on, and you may have a very enjoyable experience when you make the right connections,” says Blow.

“On the other hand, if you look for answers in online videos and online forums, you’re likely to have an empty experience – you’ll know the answer, but you will have skipped over the good part of the experience. The most enjoyable part of this game is what happens in your mind when connections come together.”

Reviewing the PS4 version back in January, Tom produced a 10/10, stating: “I’m so caught up inside the world of The Witness that it’s hard to think about anything else: like Tetris, this is its true power, and it is one of the best games I’ve ever encountered. Playing The Witness is a real emotional rollercoaster, with flashes of anger, despondency, jubilation, awe, smugness and admiration.

“Who would have thought you could get all that from a game about drawing lines?”
