Capcom’s Resident Evil 7 stats website has revealed that 921,364 people worldwide have played Resident Evil 7 as of January 30.
The figure is taken from players who have enabled the in-game data transmission option, meaning it’s difficult to know the actual sales figure. Capcom said last week it had shipped 2.5 million copies worldwide.
Of this 921K, 87,329 have played using PS VR, equating to around 9.48 per cent of all players. Capcom’s stats don’t offer a platform breakdown, but you can assume PS4 was the dominant system – in the UK 73 per cent of week one Resi 7 sales were on PS4.
