Splatoon 2 is getting a massive update in just a few days, on November 24, and it adds a lot of stuff to Nintendo’s family-friendly and extremely colourful shooter. The update pushes four new maps into circulation (the first arriving on November 25) as well as a new stage for Salmon Run, loads of new gear and, most importantly, new hairstyles.

There are around 140 pieces of new gear being added, including shoes, headgear and new winter clothes, and some throwback pieces from the original Splatoon. This update also increases the level cap all the way to 99, and adds the option to reset your level back around to Level ★1 so you can keep progressing.

Excitingly, the update adds the ability to change your gear between matches without having to exit out to the Lobby, which is extremely useful, so props to Ninty there.

Don’t forget there’s a mid-December update too, adding Clam Blitz, a competitive game game mode where you have to collect as many golden clams as possible. Take a look in the video below to see some of the new features in action.
