The Nokia brand looks set to be dropped by new owner Microsoft once the mobile phone manufactured is officially acquired by the software firm, reports nokiapoweruser.com.

The website has published a letter sent by Microsoft to suppliers which states the Nokia Corporation/Nokia Oyj name will be replaced with Microsoft Mobile Oy.

“Microsoft Mobile Oy is the legal entity name that should be used for VAT IDs and for the issuance of invoices,” states the letter.

Microsoft has yet to formally confirm the name change.
