It’s been nearly five years since Microsoft announced plans for the Steven Spielberg-backed Halo TV show, though it’s still yet to grace our screens. However, David Nevins, the Big Cheese at Showtime, has assured fans that the show is still very much in the pipeline.
Speaking with TV Guide, Nevins confirmed that he’s already had a gander at the show’s scripts, despite the fact Joe Public has seen next to nothing on the much-anticipated project since its initial reveal.
In addition, David Levine, President of Programming, said that the Halo TV show is ‘still moving forward and I’m encouraged by what we’ve seen so far […] It’s still live action, and it will definitely satisfy the fans of Halo and I think also satisfy the drama audiences of Showtime.’
The Halo TV show was originally conceived as an Xbox LIVE-exclusive adaptation, though the project later moved to Showtime.Â
The first-person shooter franchise has had mixed results when it comes to making the transition to the small-screen. Halo: Nightfall was something of a disappointment among fans, while Halo: Forward Unto Dawn fared much better.
