BioWare has no current plans to bring Mass Effect Andromeda to Nintendo Switch, producer Michael Gamble has told Stevivor.

Asked about the possibility of porting the highly anticipated sci-fi RPG to Switch, Gamble said: “Yeah, not right now, no. We’re not planning on it. If the Switch launches and everyone’s just yammering for Mass Effect, who knows.

“We never want to close doors like that.”

It sounds like Andromeda won’t be one of the titles announced for Switch at the big January 13 reveal event.

Gamble was also unwilling to offer any concrete info on if an Xbox Scorpio enhanced edition of Andromeda was planned.

“For Scorpio, we have absolutely no plans right now,” he said. “You never know what’ll happen after that.”

You’d imagine EA and BioWare would knock out a 4K edition of the game for Scorpio, especially given the ease at which the publisher says such things are possible thanks to the Frostbite Engine.

Mass Effect Andromeda is set to launch this spring.
