A “frankly insane” number of people were playing No Man’s Sky within 15 minutes of the game’s launch on Steam on Friday evening, creator Sean Murray posted on Twitter last week.
“Bracing for impact on PC. We’ll do our best to keep servers online. Be aware there is a lot of you,” Tweeted Murray ahead of launch. “WAIT! I’ve changed my mind!”
“A frankly insane amount of people have just tried to run No Man’s Sky for the first time within 15 minutes of it releasing,” he added. “99% appear to be up and running on our servers. We’ll begin trying to resolve asap for those who are having issues.”
It’s these issues which Hello Games has devoted its time into fixing, so far offering a number of workarounds and an experimental patch which solves a number of problems.
According to SteamSpy, which takes data from the Steam API, No Man’s Sky sales are just under half a million. We don’t yet know actual sales figures for PS4.
