Only hours ahead of the No Man’s Sky launch a rather crude copyright takedown of No Man’s Sky videos on YouTube forced both Sony and developer Hello Games to go on the charm offensive in order to manage fan anger at the situation.
The issue arose after Sony targeted a number of YouTube videos which leaked footage of No Man’s Sky ahead of release, only it turned out that many videos which featured no leaked footage were also taken offline.
One such affected channel was that of Steven Thomas who was hoping to host a 24 hour live stream of No Man’s Sky to raise money for the Make A Wish Foundation. However, the copyright strike issued against his channel meant he was unable to host a YouTube stream.
Thankfully Sony and Hello Games managed to get on top of the situation just in time.
You can catch the stream right here, which has already raised over £1,000.
