Hello Games has today announced another new update to intersellar exploration game No Man's Sky. Entitled No Man's Sky Beyond, it'll be free to all players and will include something that the team is dubbing 'No Man's Sky Online'.
The announcement is light on specifics, but says that No Man's Sky Online will be 'a radical new social and multiplayer experience which empowers players everywhere in the universe to meet and play together.'
Most interestingly, though comparisons are expected, Hello Games says it doesn't consider NMSO to be an MMO, saying 'it won’t require a subscription, won’t contain microtransactions, and will be free for all existing players.'
Sean Murray and his team note that the Beyond update is 'the most ambitious chapter so far' with Online counting for just one of the three major components that will comprise the No Man's Sky Beyond update. More information is promised in the coming weeks 'when we know can be precise'.
No Man's Sky Beyond is currently aiming for a 'Summer 2019' release for all formats of the game, and you can check out a very teaser-y trailer below.
