There won’t be a demo of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Bethesda has confirmed to Gameplanet (via Eurogamer). The sprawling RPG is simply too massive to shrink down into a demo.

“No, we won’t be doing a demo,” Bethesda producer Craig Lafferty said. “For a game of this size and complexity it’s really hard to do a demo the represents the game truly. And it would have to be a gigantic demo. So we won’t be doing a demo.”

Not that Skyrim will need a demo to convince gamers to part with their cash. Oblivion was an early success story for the Xbox 360 and hype for the follow-up is up there with the year’s biggest titles.

Earlier this month it was reported that Bethesda’s Pete Hines labelled Skyrim the publisher’s crown jewel – a statement very difficult to argue with.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will launch November 11, 2011 – that’s 11/11/11 you see.
