Nintendo’s profits down

It seems that despite the successful launch of the DS, Nintendo’s quarterly profits are down by 78.5%. Speculation on the drop indicates that this isn’t a huge surprise however. With few exclusives for the Gamecube and both GBA and Gamecube sales in decline, this was practically inevitable. However, Nintendo are in a transitional period with both their handhelds and home console’s. A situation that should change once the Revolution is released.

However, taken in perspective, Nintendo are still performing much better than Sony or Microsoft. Both of whom are likely to suffer even bigger losses once the next generation console war starts. And you can be sure that Nintendo will still be sitting comfortably in the black while all this goes on…
