Despite no official confirmation from Nintendo UK representatives, the platform holder’s official UK website has listed the title for release on June 1 2008.
With June 1 falling on a Sunday we had our suspicions that the date could be inaccurate, an opinion shared by Nintendo.
“We’re trying to find out as nothing official has been announced by Nintendo,” a Nintendo spokesperson told VideoGamer.com. “1st June is a Sunday and games are never released on a Sunday. It’s likely to be a placeholder as it is the exact middle point of 2008.”
It looks like European gamers will be waiting a little longer before an official date for SSBB is confirmed. Let us know in the comments below when you think the game will be released in Europe.
UPDATE: Nintendo UK has changed the SSBB release date on its website from June 1 2008 to simply 2008.
