In announcing their 2nd quarter finanical results, Nintendo has revealed that the Nintendo Switch has already sold more than half the sales their previous console, the Wii U, made in its entire lifetime worldwide.

In the information released over the weekend, the company announced that the Switch has so far sold over 7.6 million units as of September 2017, with the Wii U in comparison selling 13.5 million units since its launch back in 2012.

In terms of games, perhaps unsurprisingly, Zelda: Breath of the Wild holds the top spot, with 4.7 million units sold with Mario Kart 8 close behind on 4.42 million and Splatoon 2 taking home third place with 3.61 million units.

Of course, all this is even before factoring in the release of Super Mario Odyssey last week, which I dare say could see these numbers grow even higher for the next quarter. Colm liked it very much, at any rate.
