Nintendo will broadcast its first Nintendo Direct of 2014 at 10pm GMT tonight, the platform holder has announced.

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata Nintendo of Europe president Satoru Shibata will be speaking about Wii U and 3DS titles releasing by the end of spring 2014.

We’re not sure why the broadcast is so late in the day.

We fully expect Nintendo to announce a firm release date for Mario Kart 8 on Wii U, and perhaps a couple of new games – maybe The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D and a Metroid title.
