With stock of the limited edition Super Mario All-Stars on Wii now almost sold out in the US, those hoping to secure a copy of the 25th anniversary SNES compilation have been turning to eBay with prices for the $30 game reaching as much as $80.

The situation doesn’t appear quite as desperate in the UK, with Amazon showing stock priced at under £20.

However, with the widespread reporting of stock running low, it’s likely remaining supplies with be exhausted in the not too distant future. If you want a copy then we advise you pick one up now.

However, if you do miss out and don’t fancy paying eBay prices, there’s a chance Nintendo will give the limited release an extended retail run at some point in the future.

“We are gratified by the consumer response to this limited-edition product, which we created to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the original Super Mario Bros. game on NES,” Nintendo public relations director Marc Franklin told Wired.com. “Because of the strong response, we are exploring the option of bringing this item back at a later date.”

As a collector’s item the 25th Anniversary Super Mario All-Stars is a nice enough item, although wee felt a little let down by the lack of 60Hz support in the European release. The packaging looks nice though.
