The Wii launched in Europe with very few first-party titles – only The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Wii Play, plus the Wii Sports pack-in. In the US the console also launched with the adrenaline pumping off-road racer Excite Truck, and in Japan WarioWare made it out for launch.

The good news for European gamers is that both titles will be available early in the New Year. WarioWare: Smooth Moves, featuring over 200 microgames will be released across Europe on January 12, 2007. The game makes players use the Wii Remote in a variety of wacky ways and looks the perfect game for a party.

Excite Truck is released a month later on February 16. This isn’t the run of the mill off-road racer though. Players must use the Wii Remote – steering left and right like a steering wheel – to manoeuvre the trucks around a series of tracks at breakneck speeds. Moving at such insane speed means you’ll often find your truck flying through the air and players will have to level up their truck for a smooth landing by tilting the Wii Remote forward and back.

We’ll have reviews of both games closer to their European launch, but for now check out our WarioWare: Smooth Moves and Excite Truck previews.
