Nintendo has apologised for failing to launch Nintendo TVii in Europe during 2013, and asked for Wii U owners to “keep an eye out” for more information about the service “in the near future”.
“We would like to apologise that we were unable to bring the Nintendo TVii service to Europe in 2013 as originally planned,” Nintendo wrote on its website. “Please continue to keep an eye out for further announcements regarding this service in the near future.”
Nintendo TVii lets Wii U owners use the GamePad as a second screen to browse information about TV shows, films and sports currently broadcasting on cable and satellite channels, and interact with other members of the community.
It also recommends new TV shows for users to watch based on their activity, and supports on-demand streaming services like Netflix and Hulu Plus.
The service is currently only available in the US, Canada and Japan.
