The newly announced Nintendo 2DS sports what appears to be the same dual screen setup as the 3DS, but is in fact made from one larger screen, reports USGamer.
Rather than feature one regular screen and one touch screen as found in the 3DS, the 3DS sports one large touch screen which is is separated by the handheld’s casing. The upper screen is shielded by a layer of plastic, but it’s been suggested that even without the cover, the 2DS would not recognise touch input as the system’s software isn’t configured to accept inputs from this screen.
All this is a means to cut the manufacturing cost of the 2DS, allowing Nintendo to sell the systems for £109.
Nintendo 2DS goes on sale in the UK on October 12, the same day as Pokemon X an Pokemon Y hit stores.
