Famitsu Weekly has broken news that Team Ninja is working on a new Ninja Gaiden title for the Nintendo DS. Titled Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword, details on the new title are scare, but first screenshots show the game to be an overhead, 3D action title with much of the control handled with a stylus.

Expect more info on the game over the coming months. There’s also news that Ninja Gaiden Sigma, the PS3 remake of the Xbox classic Ninja Gaiden, is to appear in demo form on the Japanese PlayStation Network on April 27. The demo is said to feature content not found in the final game and there’s even the promise of online leaderboards.

It’s expected that the demo will eventually make its way to the US and Europe, although no dates have been revealed.
