Microsoft has announced that Ninja Gaiden II, the highly anticipated Xbox 360 sequel from Team Ninja, will be released across Europe on June 6, 2008.

Ryu Hayabusa returns on a mission to avenge his clan and prevent the destruction of the human race, with the blood-soaked adventure spanning Tokyo, New York and the netherworld.

Although still offering punishing gameplay, a new auto-healing system featuring semi-permanent damage restored at save points promises to make the previously hardcore only series accessible to a wider range of gamers. There’s also a bunch of new difficulty settings.

Following the success of the movie sharing feature in Halo 3, Ninja Gaiden II will offer something similar, enabling gamers to share their death defying exploits and greatest achievements with friends over Xbox LVIE.

Microsoft has also announced the Ninja Gaiden II Online Mini-Game, exclusive to Xbox.com. The game allows players to go head to head with countless other Ninjas in a challenge of Ninja speed and dexterity.

Ninja Gaiden II is scheduled for release across Europe on June 6.
