Square Enix has joyfully announced that Nier: Automata has racked up over a cool mill of sales worldwide. This includes digital and physical copies on PS4 and PC.

Automata launched in Japan on February 23, North America on March 7, and everywhere else on March 10. It received a hugely positive critical reception — why, our own reviewer gave it a 9.

Director Yoko Taro, who has won many hearts and minds over the world by being adorable, has responded to the news by being adorable. Taking to Twitter, he said: ‘Thank you so…….so much. I can’t describe by my poor English. But thank you. (;_;) ‘ (ASCII emoji subject’s own). He also rettweeted what is apparently an English translation of an earlier Tweet of his where he jokes that, based on the popular elements of Automata, his next game will be one featuring a half-naked man showing off his butt. At least, this is probably a joke.

Here is a promo video Yoko Taro did, wherein he rolls on the floor with a t-shirt and issues profanity against the name of the company publishing his game.
