The fact that Ovechkin is in the Top 5 in strength once again in NHL 23, is very impressive, especially seeing who follows him from spots five through ten. Having Lucic and Wilson in the Top 3 makes perfect sense, considering how physically gifted they are with their strength. That said, most of these players share the same ratings and are only one point apart from each if not, presenting fans with ten players that you can’t go wrong with no matter who you select.

The most noticeable differences from NHL 22 to NHL 23, is Oleksiak couldn’t maintain his 94 overall strength rating, nor did Carlo or Zadorov make it back on the list this year. Despite a retired Getzlaf and the changes with the 9th and 10th spots, everyone else on the NHL 22 list returned to the Top 10 again for NHL 23, showing the consistency of those ratings from season to season.
