Gamers were up in arms over the reported five hour battery life of the Nintendo 3DS, but it looks like Sony’s new handheld, the NGP, will offer around the same game time from a single charge.
A source has told Eurogamer that the NGP will conk out after approximately four to five hours – a stat Sony failed to mention at its Tokyo press event or inside any of its press materials.
Eurogamer states that Sony had targeted a battery life of six to eight hours, but fell short of the mark.
It’s not clear what settings the NGP must be operating in to achieve five hours run-time, with screen brightness and wireless activity all sure to put added strain on the battery.
While no pricing has been announced by Sony, a source has said the platform holder will “make a loss” on each NGP sold.
