Marvel Rivals Season 1.5 update has brought some significant changes to the existing roster by adding two new heroes that join the Fantastic Four family, Human Torch and The Thing. Alongside the addition of these characters, one new map, Central Park has been added as a new Quick Match mode where players can complete Convergence missions.
Furthermore, the update has also significantly nerfed and buffed existing hero meta which has shifted positions in our tier list. Regardless, as with each season, a new meta has emerged with the latest patch that has three DPS heroes taking over the entire roster and terrorizing players from the skies.
Marvel Rivals Season 1.5 update brings unstoppable meta with three flying DPS heroes
Marvel Rivals Season 1.5 has added a brand new DPS hero Human Torch, who can soar through the skies and blaze the path below using his abilities and lock down areas to damage enemies. Furthermore, his team-up ability with Storm blazes the entire battlefield into fire tornadoes that put a definitive end to opponents.
However, several Marvel Rivals players have been combatting flying DPS heroes such as Iron Man, Storm as well as Star-Lord for quite some time and are always surprised by how they can stay at a distance from the battlefield, yet deal enough damage to turn the tide of any match.
Now with the addition of the Human Torch, this problem has grown into a meta where flying heroes such as Iron Man and Storm join the Fantastic Four member, into creating a trio that is unstoppable and is terrorizing players as they share their plight on social media.
One such player wrote, “Didn’t really think about how annoying playing against a bunch of flying heroes was gonna be”, as they referenced Human Torch, Storm, and Iron Man being in the same team and wiping out the player’s team in seconds. Another similar user chimed in, “Playing support is like playing DBD right now.”
However, others have suggested heroes like Namor, Hela, Star-Lord, Punisher, and most importantly Black Widow that can easily shoot down these soaring heroes and make way for their team to complete mission objectives during a Rivals match.
Yet, some are still missing the triple support meta from the first half of Season 1 that was brutally nerfed down by NetEase in Season 1.5 hero adjustments, leaving only Adam Warlock to shine among the rest.
