Bethesda Softworks has announced the development of Star Trek: Conquest, an all-new game set the Next Generation era.
Conquest will blend strategy and action elements, with players taking control of Federation, Klingon, Romulan, Cardassian, Dominion, and Breen forces and leading them in a campaign to control the galaxy.
Players will build and manage a growing empire in turn-based strategy making full use of the Wii Remote to select and manoeuvre starships on the galactic map. Effective management of resources will be required in order to expand your empire and important choices will need to be made regarding fleet management, research and enemy engagement.
Once in battle the game will switch to a ship level tactical view allowing players to take direct command of their ships and engage in real-time combat. The Wii Nunchuck will be used to manoeuvre the starship while the Wii Remote will be used to take aim and fire.
Conquest is scheduled for a simultaneous release this Christmas for Wii and PS2 and will carry a budget price tag.
