Square Enix hopes to be running two to three MMOs simultaneously, announcing a third MMO by the end of its financial year which runs through to the end of March 2012. Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada mentioned the new MMO during a May 13 earnings briefing – transcript transcribed by Andriasang.
The other two MMOs currently being run by Square Enix are Final Fantasy XI and Final Fantasy XIV, the latter of which has suffered numerous problems since its release in September 2010. Wada pointed out that while there’s still work to be done on the game, the studio is at the point where they can see the target.
Is Square Enix wise to be working on another MMO when it hasn’t managed to fix its previous effort yet? Would you give another title a go having been burnt by Final Fantasy XIV?
