Psychonauts 2 is still some way from is vague 2018 release date, but it appears the team at Double Fine is starting to get into its development groove, having put together an art test demonstration level called “Quarry Map”.

What you have is a fairly linear map which the development team is using as a way to experiment with construction, decoration and rendering, which will ultimately help form the look of the final game.

Although just a test, the footage on show looks great and importantly retains the style of the original Psychonauts.

Earlier today it was announced that Psychonauts will be published by Starbreeze.
