A new version of the PS5 Pro is reportedly being stealth released in just a few days. The PS5 is an excellent console, and its Pro counterpart includes an assortment of enhanced games such as the upcoming release of Ghost of Yotei. Earlier this month, Sony silent released a new version of the PS5 Slim, and this resulted in some flack due to the console receiving a reduction in storage space. Thankfully, that doesn’t appear to be happening with the new version of the PS5 Pro coming soon.

New PS5 Pro reportedly being released soon

According to the often-reliable Billbil-kun of Dealabs (as spotted by Insider Gaming), a new version of the PS5 Pro will reportedly be stealth released in Europe from September 30th. This version is identified as CFI-7121, and it’s currently unknown if it will be sold in the Americas.

It’s unknown what improvements the new PS5 Pro includes, but Billbil-kun speculates that they are most likely “modest” and “possibly limited to better energy efficiency”. While improvements are unknown, Billbil-kun reports that the price will remain the same at €799.99, and that, thankfully, the storage space will remain 2 TB.

The storage space remaining the same is good news because of how the new PS5 Slim model identified as CFI-2116 was stealth released in Europe on September 13th and quietly reduced storage space from 1 TB to 825 GB.

Sony selling new models of existing hardware with reduced energy consumption and internal tweaks makes sense, and at least this time it will not be at the expense of reduced storage space while still selling at the same price.

As for what’s beyond the PS5, rumors persist that the PS6 could be out by 2028. Sony’s CEO has said that the PlayStation 6 is already “top of mind” at the publisher, meanwhile, leaks have possibly spilled the beans on specs for the PS6 console and its supposed handheld counterpart.
