Following the announcement that PEGI had been named as the sole video games rating system to be used in the UK, the PEGI website has updated with new colour-coded ratings labels.

The PEGI age rating labels will be placed on the front and back of video game packaging and include the age ratings, 3+, 7+, 12+, 16+ and 18+. The rating indicated on the packing promises to provide a reliable indication of the suitability of the game content in terms of protection of minors.

The new rating labels are also colour coded: green for 3-7, yellow for 12-16, and red for 18+.

It’s not clear when the new ratings system will be implemented.
