Oddworld Inhabitants has released the first slice of actual gameplay for the newest installment of the adventures of plucky Mudokon Abe in a brand new teaser trailer for Oddworld: Soulstorm.

The footage, which you can see below, comes a couple of months after a cinematic was shown at GDC back in March along with an explanation of the tech behind it. This trailer is much more focused around the game itself, and shows the return of everyone's favourite psychic fart-thrower.

The game itself has gone under a lengthy development process, first being announced in 2016 before suffering several delays, but an 'Abe's Origins' project last year to see original games Oddysee and Exodus get physical releases on PC managed to smash its Kickstarter target in less than 48 hours, proving there's still a great deal of fan support for the series.

Speaking to Eurogamer, Oddworld Inhabitants president Lorne Lanning has heavily implied that Oddworld Soulstorm's success might see the developer return to their original plan from all the way back when the first game was released on the original PlayStation of making the series a quintology, saying 'why don't we set forth to see if we can't, before we get much greyer, get the quintology done in our lifetimes?'

Oddworld: Soulstorm is still to confirm platforms, but is hoping to release 'Early 2020'.
