Atari has announced Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm, a PS3 exclusive action title scheduled for release across Europe in November 2008.

The game is based on the popular Naruto animated television series and will feature 3D combat with players able to investigate every inch of the Hidden Leaf Village in open-world exploration.

The game will feature an evolution of the head-to-head fighting action of the Ultimate Ninja series and enable players to battle in full 3D across massive environments. Players will be able to unleash powerful jutsu attacks, perform acrobatic evasive manoeuvres and run up walls and over water as they fight for ninja supremacy.

A character’s fighting style is also fully customisable and two further support characters can be recruited to put their own stamp on the action. Each of the 25 characters featured is also capable of transforming into a powerful Awakening form, offering new traits and abilities.

New to the game is free-roaming exploration across the Hidden Leaf Village and the Forest of Death, where players can search every inch of these iconic environments and take on 100 unique missions.

Ultimate Ninja Storm will also support head-to-head multiplayer fighting for up to two players.

The game will also take full advantage of a new next-gen graphics engine, boasting fluid animation, incredible visual detail and an advanced facial expression system. All this combined promises to deliver visuals that surpass that of traditional hand-drawn animation.

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm for PS3 will be published by Namco Bandai Games and distributed by Atari, with a release set for November 2008.
