A new Guitar Hero game could be revealed as early as next week, according to a GameReactor rumour.
The site claims that invitations to an Activision event taking place next Wednesday, April 1, have been sent out to German media, with the invite allegedly asking attendees to “rock the shack with us” at an undisclosed location in “Hamburg Rock City”.
While the game isn’t named on the invite, GameReactor estimates that Activision could be holding the event to mark the announcement of a new Guitar Hero is widely rumoured to be in development for PS4 and Xbox One.
The rumour follows three weeks after Harmonix revealed it would be resurrecting Rock Band with a new game set for release later this year. A report last week suggested that the game could release this October.
The latest Guitar Hero game ‘Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock’ released in 2010. An Activision representative declined to comment when contacted by VideoGamer.com.
