Sony Santa Monica is developing a new game in the God of War franchise, game director Cory Barlog has confirmed.
Barlog revealed the news at a panel during this weekend’s PlayStation Experience, which was then tweeted by the official Santa Monica Studio account.
“Yes, we are making another God of War,” Barlog is reported to have said. The tweet has since been deleted.
Barlog previously served as game director on God of War 2 and, after working on Tomb Raider at Crystal Dynamics, is expected to have resumed the position on the unannounced title.
IGN reports that Barlog hopes to share more details “within the next year or two”, with the game expected to be the first God of War title on PS4.
