First-person shooters on the PC aren’t exactly in short supply, but dtp Entertainment AG is hoping to find a place in the FPS market with Red Ocean. The game stars diving instructor and treasure hunter Jack Hard. Mr Hard stumbles upon a secret Russian cold war research station deep under the ocean. He eventually discovers that the research facility is under the control of a terrorist organisation – cue lots of action.

The game’s link with the water doesn’t stop with its setting – players will also have to make use of water, be it in liquid form (swimming and drowning enemies), as ice, and even as gas as a potent weapon.

Red Ocean is in development at Collision Studios and is scheduled for release in February 2007 under the Anaconda label.
