A new update was released for Fortnite this morning after an hour of downtime. It was never intended to be a major update promising new content as its purpose was simply to fix bugs and errors. However, despite this being its purpose, the newly released Fortnite update still hasn’t fixed some annoying bugs that have been reported by the community since the launch of Chapter 5 Season 3.

In addition to bug fixes, a recent update has introduced massive changes to the game including huge nerfs to cars. These changes to cars have vexed many in the community, but the good news is that more vehicle mods will soon be introduced. Not only that, but Chapter 5 Season 3 is also set to see the return of an overpowered pistol with a popular healing item.

There will be major updates to Chapter 5 Season 3 as it unfolds, including a leaked collaboration with Pirates of the Caribbean reportedly set for June. While there is a lot of new content to anticipate over the coming weeks, there are unfortunately still some annoying bugs persisting despite the release of a new Fortnite update.

New Fortnite update hasn’t fixed these annoying bugs

Fortnite went offline for downtime at 1AM PT/4AM ET/9 AM BST on May 31st. This downtime only lasted an hour because the update wasn’t major and was solely intended to fix bugs and errors.

No patch notes have been shared which is typical of Epic Games as they mostly only release patch notes for major updates adding new content. While the lack of patch notes is expected, there is obvious frustration as the absence leaves players in the dark as to what issues have been patched.

We’re currently in the dark as to everything that has been resolved, but we know a couple of bugs that still haven’t been fixed thanks to prominent leaker, iFiremonkey.

Per iFiremonkey on Twitter, the newly released update still hasn’t fixed “The bug that causes your weapons to automatically reload once equipped”. In addition, iFiremonkey reports that the new update also hasn’t fixed the issue with players “not being granted the seasonal umbrella due to winning a match before its grant was fixed”.

In addition to the above from iFiremonkey, Epic Games still hasn’t fixed a bug causing players to lose button functionality in the item shop. Per FortniteStatus, this is caused by “completing the purchase of a Jam Track through the ‘View More’ button,” and on Trello it is still listed for a future update.

You can check out Epic Games’ Trello board to see other issues that are in still of need of getting fixed.

For more Fortnite, a new survey shows potential collaborations including Pokémon and Grand Theft Auto. Epic is also set to return a popular healing item and overpowered Pistol.
