Hot new details on the console versions of Street Fighter 4 have been revealed by Japanese magazine Famitsu, including online play and exclusive characters.
According to IGN SF4 producer Yoshinori Ono told Famitsu that the home versions of the game will feature exclusive new characters that won’t feature in the arcade version and will allow players to fight one another in online fights.
He said: “We’ll be adding characters while watching the overall balance.” On online play he added: “We won’t be adding unnecessary stuff.”
The news comes as Famitsu.com dishes the dirt on some new characters, including Rufus, described as a fierce rival of Ken, and Seth, CEO of SIN, the company in charge of Shadaloo’s weapons. According to IGN’s report, Seth, the game’s final boss, can input data from various fighting styles into his body. It’s unclear whether he will be playable.
Seth brings the new character total to five for SF4. We already knew about El Fuerte, Abel (who we reckon could be one of the game’s strongest characters going by our hands-on with the title) and Crimson Viper.
We still have no idea when the now confirmed PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game will be released. Stay tuned.
